Million Dollar Notes From an Internet Marketing Seminar

I have been marketing online for over 12 years now. Since 1998 I have worked exclusively from home. So I’ve learned a little bit about internet marketing during that time. I continue to invest time money and resources into improving my knowledge and skills. In fact just very recently I attended a 3-Day Internet Marketing Seminar in Atlanta with some of the top internet marketing minds in the World.

Below is information that would most likely cost you thousands of dollars and many years to obtain. However, in this blog post and future ones I will be presenting some of the notes I took containing valuable information from this conference.

What I've learned is that it's very important at times to step back from your business and look at it from a distance. It's at these times you'll see new revelations about your business that allows you to take it to the next level.

Names (business names, website names) are the ultimate condensed value – make sure yours is hard to forget – experts say we tend to remember colors and food so you could combine them for additional effect. Also any name that tend to repeat sounds and rhythm. For example say Coca Cola, or Krispy Kreme. Notice how these names are easier to remember.

If you write articles use a Pen Name that takes advantage of this concept, something like “Jumpin Joe Jacoby”

Here’s a concept that may seem obvious. - Look for customers who are looking for you.

This is one of those can’t see the forest for the trees concept. I mean who would want to sell something nobody wants but in reality what this really means is do some keyword research and determine what people are looking for before selling the product.

Did you know 10% of all searches are medical related? People are looking to solve problems. If you had a product that solved these problems people would be looking for you. This is what it means to position yourself for customers who are looking for you.

Learn to master the art of valuing information from a customers perspective. When you think something is valuable evaluate how valuable is this information from the customer’s perspective and not what you think.

Don’t keep your best ideas a secret – give them away, give your 10 best ideas away. This may sound crazy on the surface, however the person who said this has built a $20 Million Dollar business using this philosophy.

Do you have an information product and want to make a million dollars than - Give away the what, sell the how!

To make your business more successful put a face on your business – Apple vs. PC. Have you seen the Apple vs PC commercials? This is an excellent example of this.
